Welcome to our blog, and to our wonderful brand new wedding venue! 

The Wedding Barn at Old Hall is a beautifully authentic Suffolk barn - two hundred years ago it was a fully-functioning steam-driven Victorian barn, full of stationary steam engines that drove threshing machines.  We have managed to retain some of the original features which serve as fabulous reminders of The Wedding Barn’s rich history.  Although the old machinery has been removed, on a couple of the walls there are still old pulley systems in place, and if you look closely enough you will find inscriptions from workers on the brickwork dating back to the late 19th century!

Since we have lived at Old Hall, the barn has served as nothing more than a storage facility for our friends’ and family’s furniture.  It was a couple of years ago that we decided to breathe new life into it, by giving it a new purpose.  Rather than converting it into multiple houses - which arguably could have been the easiest course to take - we felt that the barn was packed too full of character not to be used as a venue of some sort...and the idea of The Wedding Barn was born!

The Wedding Barn is very much a family-run business; Chris and Sophie are my parents, they are the Directors and ultimately call the shots (story of my life!).  I am Georgina, I run the Sales and Marketing side of the business, and it’ll be me that gets back to any enquiries that come our way.  In addition to us, if you come along for a viewing you are likely to meet Snoop the Labrador, plus our hilarious and overly-friendly chickens, pigs and sheep - it’s basically a day at the zoo!
