Visiting the Newmarket Wedding Show 2026? How to Make the Most of Your Day

Planning a wedding involves plenty of research, but meeting suppliers in person is invaluable. It makes it so much easier to understand whether their style, approach and services suit what you have in mind. A wedding show brings those conversations together, giving you the opportunity to explore ideas, compare options and get to know the people behind the businesses.

We’ll be exhibiting at Newmarket Wedding Show on Sunday 22nd November 2026, representing The Wedding Barn at Old Hall. If you’re considering a countryside barn wedding, we’d love to meet you and talk through your plans.

Newmarket Wedding Show: the details

The show takes place on Sunday 22nd November 2026, from 10am to 3pm, at The Rowley Mile, Newmarket Racecourse, CB8 0TF.

Entry and parking are free, and the organisers expect around 100 wedding and event suppliers. You can pre-register through MJR Events to save time on arrival.

Whether you’re looking for your venue, researching suppliers or working through the finer details, it’s an opportunity to ask questions that are specific to your wedding and see what different businesses can offer.

Getting useful answers from exhibitors

The more a supplier understands about your plans, the more relevant their advice can be. A preferred date or season, approximate guest numbers and an indication of budget provide a useful starting point, even if those details are still flexible.

It also helps to share anything already confirmed. A photographer may want to know your venue; a florist might ask about your ceremony setting; a caterer will need to understand guest numbers and dietary requirements.

Saved photographs, a Pinterest board or a few notes on your phone can help explain the atmosphere you want to create. These don’t need to form a finished brief. They’re simply a way to start a more specific conversation.

Before visiting, look through the organisers’ exhibitor information and identify the businesses most relevant to the decisions you’re currently making. That leaves more time for detailed conversations, alongside discovering suppliers you hadn’t previously considered.

Looking beyond the starting price

A show is a useful place to understand what different services actually include. Two prices can look similar while covering quite different things.

Questions worth exploring include:

  • Availability: Can the supplier accommodate your preferred date, and how flexible are the alternatives?

  • What’s included: Does the quoted price cover everything you’ve discussed? Depending on the service, ask about staffing, travel, delivery, setup or collection.

  • Your requirements: How would they approach your guest numbers, ideas or any particular needs?

  • The next step: Can they provide a written quotation, arrange a consultation or organise a viewing?
For venues, it’s also worth discussing access times, capacity for each part of the day, catering arrangements and how the spaces work in different weather conditions. These details help you picture the experience for you and your guests.

Meet The Wedding Barn at Old Hall

We’re a family-run wedding venue in the Suffolk countryside, near Steeple Bumpstead and close to the Essex and Cambridgeshire borders. With potential access availability for the entire week of your wedding - where availability allows, our restored Grade II listed barn combines historic character with the flexibility to create a celebration that reflects you as a couple.

Inside, oak beams and a 21-foot ceiling give the barn its distinctive setting. We can host civil ceremonies for up to 120 guests, with space for your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations too. Couples marrying elsewhere can also use the barn for their reception. The enclosed courtyard provides an outdoor space for drinks and conversation, while the built-in bar and dance floor keep the evening celebrations together.

Our generous hire period gives you plenty of time to decorate and prepare the space. The hire fee includes tables and chairs for up to 120 people, a staffed bar and the dance floor. We can also share recommendations for trusted suppliers and local accommodation.

At the show, we can talk through how your plans might work here: how you’d use the different spaces, what’s included in the hire and which arrangements you would make separately. It’s also an opportunity to meet the team before arranging a visit to the barn itself.

After the show

A short note after each conversation can make comparing options much easier. Record what appealed to you, any costs discussed and the next step, then follow up with your preferred suppliers for written details or appointments.

If you’d like to get to know our venue before meeting us, download our wedding brochure or explore our gallery. You’ll have a clearer picture of the barn and can use our conversation at the show to explore the details that matter to you.

We look forward to meeting you at the Newmarket Wedding Show on 22nd November.
